Last week saw a number of reveals for Star Wars books from Lucasfilm publishing, including news on the upcoming artbook for the Disney+ series, The Acolyte.
The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte was revealed last summer at SDCC for release this year and came as a surprise to those that collect the artbooks, as there has been no release for a live action project since The Mandalorian Season 2. They skipped multiple shows, including some that were popular too, leaving people thinking that maybe there would only be future releases for animation and movies. The release window given at that time was this summer, but this has now changed.
An update came by way of starwars.com ahead of Star Wars Celebration Japan, which has now given the book a new release date of October 7th 2025, delaying it a number of months. It now means that the book is coming over a year after the show ended. This may seem like an odd wait to some, but this is similar to the timing of artbooks for Marvel Studios projects, who are also owned by Disney.
In the same update, the cover for the book was revealed and can be seen below. This is likely to be on the dust jacket, something that all artbooks from Abrams Books for Star Wars have featured.

There were also other books revealed, including Doug Chiang: The Cinematic Legacy And The Star Wars Legacy. This too is being published by Abrams Books and comes a premium two-volume set with with 800 pages. You can read more details on that book here.
Other book reveals include the novel Star Wars: Master of Evil by Adam Christopher, a 'greeting-card-in-a-book' titled Star Wars: I Find Your Lack of Candy Disturbing, The Acolyte Visual Guide, Star Wars: The Blueprints and an updated version of Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy.
The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte is being written by Kristin Baver and will give fans a look at the art behind the first live action production set during the High Republic time period. There are currently no previews, but like the other 'Art of' books, it will cover the concept art for characters, vehicles, weapons, locations and more, with insights throughout. It comes with 224 pages and is sold for $50 at full retail price.
Star Wars artbooks have always delivered incredible concept art and fit a lot in too, so this will no doubt be on the radar for a lot of fans. A copy will be joining the collection here and so expect previews and a review when it arrives October 7th. Those interested can order the book here;
