This weeks flip through preview on The Artbook Collector YouTube channel is The Art of Darksiders II!
Each game released in the series has received an artbook filled with early sketches, concepts and illustrations. They come presented by artist and series creator Joe Madureira and highlight the bold art style for Darksiders. Fans of the game and his work will find a lot to enjoy in this book, with Joe and the rest of his art team displaying a huge amount of art packed into this volume. The Art of Darksiders II was originally released by Udon Entertainment in 2013 as a paperback and eventually became very expensive on the second hand market. This was not only because of the book selling out, but because the paperbacks were prone to coming apart due to the binding, so good copies were harder to come by.
In 2019, Udon rereleased the book as a much improved hardcover, along with the original, The Art of Darksiders. It has since sold through its print run again, which is evidence of the popularity of the series. The copy featured is the hardcover edition.

Darksiders II opened up the game world more than the original, adding RPG elements, with the player taking on the role of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. It was created by Vigil Games and published by THQ in 2012. It was rereleased as 'The Deathinitive Edition' by Nordic Games in 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One, then later ported to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
